On Top of Mt. Batulao #AlohaCara

photo-3Mt. Batulao is one of the most popular mountain in the Philippines situated at Nasugbu, Batangas. With open trails, rolling slopes and scenic views, it is indeed a good place to escape from the hassle and bustle of the city.

I have heard a lot of stories about Mt. Batulao even before I started climbing. One of which is, it is considered as one of the “must-climbed” mountain for beginners. With 811+ MASL and tagged as a Minor Climb, it is not just for first timers, but it is also used as a training ground for Trail Runners.

With some friends, I’ve decided to climb Mt. Batulao last June 26, 2016.

Mt. Batulao does have the best view at the summit. I would’ve stayed longer that day if I had the chance. But unfortunately because of it’s popularity, it was so crowded that people tends to leave immediately after taking their photos.

Here are the things you need to prepare before a dayhike climb:
– 2 Liters of Water
– Trail foods (biscuits, Jelly Ace, Fruits etc)
– Pack Lunch (or if you have all the time in the world, you can cook)
– Umbrella/ Raincoat or Rainjacket  (in case of rain)
– Scarfs or caps (to cover your skin from the sun)
– Extra Clothes & Toiletries
– Garbage Bag (be responsible of your trashes)

Also, just for a tip, bring a lot of coins! There are lots of “environmental” fees that you must pay before passing through some parts of Mt. Batulao as it is situated at the middle of several Barangays’.

We’ve reached the Campsite at 3 in the afternoon so we decided to visit Calaruega Church.
